1. Introduction

PanelX ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 of the Philippines, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the PanelX platform.

By using PanelX, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2. Personal Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

We do not collect, store, or require real photographs. All profile avatars on PanelX are pre-designed illustrated characters selected by the user. No biometric data is collected.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Consent: You provide consent when you register and agree to this Privacy Policy;
• Contractual necessity: Processing is necessary to provide the subscription service you have purchased;
• Legitimate interest: Processing for platform security, fraud prevention, and service improvement;
• Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with Philippine law, including RA 9775 and RA 10175.

4. Reading History and Privacy Controls

Your reading history is private by default. You may choose to make your reading history and profile public in your account settings. When set to Public:

• Your username, avatar, and reading history will be visible to other registered users on your profile page;
• Other users can see which comics you have read and your ratings.

You may change your privacy setting to Private at any time from your profile settings page. Changing to Private will immediately hide your reading history from other users.

5. Payment Data

All payment processing is handled exclusively by PayPal. PanelX does not store, process, or have access to your credit card numbers, bank account details, or any sensitive financial information. We only store your PayPal subscription ID and subscription status to manage your access to the Platform.

For GCash payments processed manually via our support team, we collect only the minimum information necessary to verify and activate your subscription. GCash transaction references are stored securely and used solely for payment verification purposes.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• PayPal: Subscription and payment processing;
• Manus OAuth: Authentication and login services;
• Law enforcement: When required by Philippine law or valid legal process, including reporting violations of RA 9775 to the appropriate authorities;
• Service providers: Hosting and infrastructure providers operating under data processing agreements.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Platform's services. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records required for tax compliance, or records related to legal proceedings).

Device fingerprint data used for trial abuse prevention is retained for 12 months from the date of the trial subscription.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS);
• Secure session management with signed cookies;
• Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only;
• Regular security reviews of our systems.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission (NPC) as required by the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

As a data subject under RA 10173, you have the following rights:

• Right to be informed: To know how your data is collected, processed, and used;
• Right to access: To request a copy of your personal data held by us;
• Right to rectification: To correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
• Right to erasure: To request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements;
• Right to object: To object to the processing of your personal data for specific purposes;
• Right to data portability: To receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used format;
• Right to lodge a complaint: To file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) at www.privacy.gov.ph.

10. Cookies and Tracking

PanelX uses session cookies to maintain your login state. These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Device fingerprinting is used solely for the purpose of enforcing the one-time trial limit per device.

11. Children's Privacy

PanelX is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If we discover that a minor has registered on the Platform, we will immediately terminate the account and delete all associated data. If you believe a minor has accessed the Platform, please contact us immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
